London Calling goes beyond Paradiso
Nearly 40 acts. Three venues. One very walkable neighbourhood. London Calling is getting out and about this October.
Paradiso remains at the heart of the festival, but for the first time we’re taking London Calling into the neighbourhood, with two new venues just a short stroll away: Sociëteit De Kring and the Aula of Barlaeus Gymnasium.
That means 39 acts across three Amsterdam venues, with plenty of opportunities to discover your next favourite artist along the way.
Friday: see you at De Kring
On Friday 30 October, we’re taking over Sociëteit De Kring for three performances.

Founded in 1922, De Kring has been part of Amsterdam’s cultural life for more than a century. The artists’ and intellectuals’ society has been based at Kleine-Gartmanplantsoen, just around the corner from Leidseplein, since 1930. So yes, it’s got a bit of history behind it.
Saturday starts with tea
Before we head out into the neighbourhood, Saturday begins at Paradiso with the London Calling High Tea. From 13:00, the Main Hall will be serving tea, scones and six performances by Fiona-Lee, keiyaA, Knats, Momo Boyd, Sandhouse and Tokyo Tea Room.
The High Tea runs until 17:00.
Next stop: Barlaeus
From 17:00, the Aula at Barlaeus Gymnasium opens its doors to London Calling.

Barlaeus has been part of Amsterdam’s history since 1847, when it was founded as the city’s first gymnasium. The school has been based on Weteringschans since 1885.
Paradiso normally welcomes Barlaeus students for their graduation ceremony, and during the pandemic our Main Hall even doubled as a classroom for the school’s pupils. This time, we’re swapping roles: instead of Barlaeus coming to Paradiso, London Calling is coming to Barlaeus.
Three venues, one festival
With Paradiso, De Kring and Barlaeus all within easy walking distance of each other, London Calling is giving you a little more Amsterdam to explore this year.
The full festival line-up features 39 acts, and the timetable will be announced very soon. Start making your plans accordingly. Sensible shoes are optional, but probably not a terrible idea.
