THE DARE

Nobody was prepared for this. One artist and his microphone turning the entire venue upside down. The Dare pulls out one banger after another and manages to draw a peak of energy from the audience even at 1 AM after a long day with no fewer than 20 acts. Our eyes are tired, but we can’t seem to take them off  The Dare.  Seductive, energetic, irresistible. I don’t know if it was because it was the closing act of Saturday and we all already had a happy glow on our cheeks after a whole weekend, or if it was because the short set (only half an hour!) exploded from start to finish – but for those 30 minutes, Paradiso was a nightclub in New York in the 2010s, the heyday of indiesleaze. What a time to be alive.
