Bloc Party
De jaren tachtig zijn in 2004 helemaal terug en dat zal ook nog wel een tijdje zo doorgaan, misschien zelfs wel te lang. Niet uitsluitend die nare kant komt boven, waar ze altijd ten onrechte alleen maar voor herinnerd worden. De eighties waren beslist niet alleen maar slappe hap. Net als een jaar eerder Franz Ferdinand haalt Bloc Party elementen van postpunk (en goth) boven die we graag terughoren. Het optreden van Bloc Party op London Calling smaakt naar meer, vooral door topnummers ‘Banquet’ en ‘Helicopter’.
