Packaging is the collaborative project of Daniel Lyon and Daniel Birch, two musicians who first bonded on tour in 2016. Moving away from the sound of their respective bands, Spirit Award and Flaural, the duo has crafted a debut that blends krautrock chug with psychedelic textures and a hint of electronic grandeur. The record is built on the concept of transit, empty terminals, and restless movement. Elevated by contributions from members of Beach House and Grizzly Bear, the result is a tactile, no-frills collection of songs that feels both expansive and quietly personal.
