It’s only been a year since Weaves appeared on the scene with the release of their highly acclaimed debut album. The self-titled album was among the most anticipated of the year, and was lauded internationally upon its release for its exuberant approach to guitar pop, which was described as “one of the most unpredictable sounds of 2016” (MTV), and “a triumphant assault on all things conventional” (i-D).  The Canadian indie popband with a hint of Americana ( so they say) went on tour almost immediately after for a period of 12 months, only for singer  Jasmyn Burke and gitarist Morgan Waters to return with new creative energy to start working on their new upcoming album ‘Wide Open’.  With first single #53 the band know how to deliver. This is promising stuff for London Calling.
