Adwaith

Hailing from Carmarthen, South Wales, Adwaith embodies the rich tradition of Welsh-language indie-rock. Formed in 2015 by Hollie Singer, Gwenllian Anthony, and Heledd Owen, the band draws inspiration from the experimental scene at their local haunt, The Parrot. Signed to Libertino, they released the debut single ‘Pwysau’ in 2016, paving the way for their mangled, post-punk sound. The 2018 debut album ‘Melyn’ won the Welsh Music Prize, earning support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, KEXP, NPR, and BBC Introducing. In 2022, ‘Bato Mato’ marked another triumph, inspired by a transformative Siberian journey. Winning the Welsh Music Prize for the second time, Adwaith gears up for their third album in the summer of 2023, welcoming a new member for live shows. While deeply rooted in Wales, Adwaith sets its sights on a global stage, determined to carry the Welsh language worldwide.
